NEW BUILD - Just posted a new build tonight...
OK... New build is up... This build changes the following:
  • Network menu is now 3 columns (this takes a few more seconds to load!  Be patient!)
  • Totally new system for auto hi-res and auto full screen... it should now work on all resolutions and all content providers (cbs, hulu, etc) NOTE: Most videos will take at least 30-45 seconds to go full screen!  That is due to the fact that many times the flash players are not loaded and on to the movies much before that...
  • Added some content from sling.com and fancast.com (Food Network, and Marvel) to test the new full screen functions... I should be able to pull content in from ANY providers website! THIS IS VERY EXCITING!  If hulu pulls the plug on us we can still use content from other providers... like cbs, fox, sling, etc.
  • Changed the size of the font on the poster view
  • Generally cleaned some things up on the back end.
The next release I am going to TRY to have remote control integration all worked out... I needed to get the functions working to put videos in hi-res and in full screen before I could even look at that... hopefully you will be able to use your remote to put the videos full screen and hi-res in the next build, as well as play/pause with the remote!

Just downloaded the new build. Interface looks great, but I am still having high res and full screen issues with hulu. It appears the automated script is just dimming the backlight of the webpage.

For some reason I'm still getting "SecondRun.tv can only be installed on Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate Edition" when I try to install on Windows 7 beta, 64-bit version. I can make it work with Orca, but it's kinda sorta annoying.

Kind of annoying thing. I had to uninstall the previous build then install the new one. Dunno if it was just me or what. Love the new interface, and the auto fullscreen is sweet. Love it. I'm "cutting the cord" tomorrow and this makes it so much nicer to sit on my couch and watch TV,

Still not going full screen automatically nor switching to high-res video. Also, every build except the very first has the wrong full screen even when I click to manually go full screen. On my second monitor (where MC runs, 720p), the full screen video is 4:3 not 16:9. So on a wide screen show it has black bars on top, bottom and both sides. For 4:3 shows like the Daily Show, everything is fine. David

Dude, great app! Many thanks for all your efforts!! Any chance this could be made to run on WinXP MCE? I have both Vista and XP Media Centers here, and I would love to run this on the main AV system in the living room (which is running on XP unfortunately....). Anyway, thanks again!!!

The multicolumn interface is much quicker and the titles are easier to read. Food Network and Marvel content worked fine. CBS would not automatically go to full screen. It is remarkable to see this much progress in so short a time. I will keep downloading the betas. Thanks!

Great application!! The potential is awesome! I just downloaded the new build and it looks great. I can't find ABC anymore... Also, on some channels it is no longer going into full screen automatically. I haven't tried them all but on NBC for sure. Keep up the great work!!

Correction... CBS. Also, auto full screen works on my HP touchsmart but not my Life-ware media center.

New build looks super. Two problems: 1. Probably just me, but smaller font on network menu is practically illegible on my old RPTV. Episode fonts are too small for me. 2. No auto-fullscreen. I can see when it's trying to do something, because the corners of the screen where the program controls for Media Center are located (top left, top right, bottom right) pop up, but nothing ever happens. Thanks.

Dude I love having your post pop up in my feeds to see what new features you've enabled. It's working better every time. Could I place a request to have TNT and USA added to the plugin. That is of course if they aren't in the new build already, I haven't made it home to play with the new one yet. Thanks again for all your hard work!

I also get the "SecondRun.tv can only be installed on Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate Edition" notification and the install cancels when I try to install this on Windows 7 beta, 64-bit version.

Yaggs, the new build is working great on my TV... full screen too. I do have a request however. Any chance you could add TNT content in your spare time *grin*. I am particularly interested in "The Closer", " Raising the Bar" and "Leverage". These are all great series I think many folks would enjoy. Thanks for all your work Jason.

would also love to get TNT and USA but how about the history channel or MTV.

The fullscreen's working much better since the last build. Thanks! I'm left with two issues: 1. The text on the selection screens is way too small to read. 2. I tried out the David Letterman feed, which is using a CBS player (not the normal flash player). Playback and fullscreen didn't work. I didn't really expect it to, though, and I understand that'll be really hard. Great work! Eagerly awaiting playback controls. Also, I'd suggest writing up some usage instructions ('clear' to exit, wait 30 seconds for fullscreen, etc) and adding them to the FAQ.

Thanks Yaggs for the plug-in and updates! I have a 1920x1080 resolution. All the hulu and fancast shows are working great, all going full screen. The CBS shows pop up in full screen, however, the video is frozen while the audio continues. Putting it back in non fullscreen mode, it runs fine. For Nickelodean, I end up with an 'Invalid Application' dialog box whenever I try to play something. I wanted to try ABC, but it's not listed anymore? Love the new 3-row layout, it's much faster to navigate. The episode description is still kinda small to read though. I have a 46'' screen. Other than that, it's a great piece of software. Can't wait to test more versions.

Having to fil that captcha to download really sucks. I can never get them right the first time through, very annoying.

Fullscreen seems to work great with Windows 7 64bit @ 1280x720 using default font size. Tested with FOX & Marvel programming. BUGS: - On Windows 7 64-bit, still says I need Vista when trying to install. Can install after using Orca to edit the installer. - The version info at the top of the screen still thinks I'm using the previous version. REQUESTS: - Channel +/- buttons advance episode/channel lists by one screen - Ability to view the list of TV series independent of TV Network

I just downloaded the app, install and startup was great, but the download was for build 2.17 not 2.19, where is the latest version?
Posted: 2/21/2009 9:34:25 AM | By: CertifiedCrazy | Rating:

Same here about the build number. I suspect the data showing on the screen has not been updated but the latest build *really is* installed?

Awesome app - everything looks pretty sweet and I haven't found anything else out there which can compete. I do have one request - is there any way to force the Flash app to complete a full buffer before initiating playback? I've been encountering terrible jitter (admittedly Comcast's fault) but when I manually pause, wait and play, everything works great.
