I threw together a simple little plugin that allows you to launch the new Hulu Desktop App from inside Media Center... Here are the instructions for use:
  1. Install Hulu Desktop... (get it here: http://www.hulu.com/labs/hulu-desktop )
  2. Once installed you need to move a copy of it to the root of the c: drive (this was the quickest way I could get this working easily for everyone)... the normal location it installs in is %LOCALAPPDATA%\HuluDesktop\HuluDesktop.exe (user specific and it wont launch consistently in my testing... so just copy that HuluDesktop folder from the location above to the root of your c: drive.
  3. Download and install HuluDesktopWMC from my website: HuluDesktopWMC
ENJOY!

FAQs:

Does this work in Extenders?
NO... Hulu Desktop is totally Flash based and therefor it doesn't work on extenders... SORRY...

It crashes right after launching!
Make sure you have copied the application folder to the root of your c: drive.

How can I get it on my main strip in Media Center?
Just go to the Extras Library (in Windows 7 Media Center) or the Program Library (in Windows Vista) and right click on the icon for it and hit "Add to Start Menu"... NOTE: In Vista you can only have one custom icon in your TV/Movies strip... in Windows 7 they are added to the Extras strip and you can add as many as you like... if you do this and it takes an icon you normall use and want on the TV/Movies strip just got back in the Program Library to the icon you want there, right click on it and select Add to Start Menu.

This things a piece of junk... it doesn't work...
Go easy on me... I wrote this in about 15 minutes!!!

Can you make it open Hulu Desktop maximized?
Yes, after maximizing it once it should open maximized from that point forward.

How do you exit Hulu Desktop with the remote?
Navigate to the far left menu and go to the very bottom... there is an "EXIT" function.
